Excellent review! I have recently purchased this camera in part because of this review. and it is awesome. I still have a lot to learn about the functions and look forward to doing so.

I have not heard of that problem before. I get wonderful outdoor pix with my Panasonic DMC-FX28. Maybe there is a defect in your camera. You may want to consider returning it and getting a replacement. Good luck!

I just heard that the DMC-FZ28 isn’t a DSLR. Well, what kind of camera is it and does it really matter it’s not a DSLR? Or is it still great?

    its a bridge camera
it doesnt matter if its a DSLR or not if your not a serious photographer.
the camera itself is a beauty. i have the fz38 and its amazing!

The microphone on this camera records horribly muddy and muffled sound even from 2 feet away from the lens. I quite frankly have never seen (or heard) a more horrible mic on ANY camera

don’t be jealous my friend :D , just lucky guys can have this camera :D , fuck off the sound,

do you hear the sound on an awesome photo of the sea for example by this camera ?

i’m not jealous, since i’m also an owner of this camera. You can check it if you search for the “bears in veresegyhaz” video. So the thing about the sound is own experience.

Actually, you may be better off with the FZ38 – it’s the newer version and it may in fact be a bit cheaper due to greater availability – see my review at cameralabs . com!

Hi, I have a small issue. I know two people with LUMIX cameras. Every time they try to shoot my son jumping around, most pictures seem to be blur. Are LUMIX slow? Is the autofocus and time between pressing the button and actually shooting on this camera quick/short?

I want to make fotos of my children and I need something which has no issues with quick motion. I actually am considering a Casio. Any insights?

Your video and text reviews are absolutely awesome and the best on the net.

    Thanks

I love mine so much and 90% of the time I just use the automatic feature. I have actually sold a number of the pictures I have taken with mine. I hardly go anywhere without my “baby”.

IMO it really depends on the user. I have no problems getting action shots. One of my favorite subjects is water spray, which usually is not still. If you know how to use the manual functions then this camera can do a ton. I let it to my mother once and all the pictures she took where blurred. They were not even action shots…. IDK what she was doing…. basically the best camera won’t help the user who doesn’t know how to go beyond the auto function.

@Gimmer3 Where do you sell your photos and what sort of photos do you sell?
