Either 25fps or 30fps – depending on the country of sale. The ‘50fps’ header info is incorrect.

    @Rentsthroughtheroof

European taxation limits this to 30 minutes irrespective of card size. European buyers be warned, get more cards of smaller capacity.

I really like this camera, this might be a stupid question but does the megapixels affect the video, like does the kodak 30 frames mode is worse or better than this one?

Can someone help me choose between these cameras please:

    - Canon Powershot SX210IS
    - Olympus Mju 9000
    - Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ7

I want the best camera out of these 3 for editing in movie maker (avi, wmv, etc…) Thank you!

I have this cam bought in Melbourne. 1. I find the battery extremely not long lasting. Any comment on that? (i.e. if it could be faulty?)
    2. How to get background blurred when take portraits. Of course I read about activating Macro. However, its not effective that much. Pls. advice. Thanks

I bought this the other day, and RMA’d it the same day. Why – Zoom Noise!
Incredible zoom noise occurs when zooming during video recording.
Sorry, but in a quite room, where all you hear is the ambiance, refridgerator noise, laptop fan, etc., and then, “click click click click… motor hummm stop.” Zoom out “click, click click, motor humm stop.”

Gordon, please review the zoom noise on the new ZS7. Thanks.

I was also shocked by the very noticeable zooming noise. How come this wasn’t covered in any review?

About blured background, check google for “understanding depth of field”. Compact cameras are not suitable for that.
However, there are few steps you need to do :
    1. Focus on the eyes
    2. Zoom in to the subject as much as you can (about 100 mm feel best for me)
    3. Stand as close to the subject as possible (this can be still far away depending on your zoom)
    4. Use as low F-stop as possible (shoot with lens wide-open). If nose or ears are blury and eyes are still sharp, use higher F-stop
